Ballad O Lanterns

To all our friends, the members of the Mamajah community and the inhabitants of Loëx,

Come join us for the Ballade Ô Lanternes which will take place on December 21 at the Mamajah Farm and surroundings! Here we will celebrate the Winter Solstice, which our ancestors called Yule, and which symbolizes the return of Light and hope, as the days begin to grow again after the Sun reaches its lowest point in the horizon.  

This is an opportunity to meet together to illuminate and thrill the hearts of the inhabitants of the Loëx peninsula and friends of Mamajah. After a workshop to create paper lanterns and lanterns for young and old, we will stroll to the music of our creations in the village to spread the joy around us, before meeting around the fire at the Mamajah Farm with a good meal, in music and poetry.

Practical Info: 

Access: we encourage soft mobility for this celebration. You can park your bike at the Farm. Bus 43 passes near our house and if the car remains your only option, the bus also passes near the parking lot of the municipal stadium of Onex. Please think about carpooling - you can directly contact those who are in your case via thisCovoit link. 

Restoration:   We are planning a refreshment bar (organic vegetable soup, garlic bread, raclette, mulled wine and other delicacies) on site. 

Budget & Payments: Admission is free, thus accessible to all budgets! You can take your ticket via our website and pay directly online or register for 0 chf and pay on site in cash or by Twint. 

In order to help us cover the costs of the Mamajah Association which welcomes us, we recommend an entry price of 10.- CHF per adult. Another kitty will be made available to remunerate the artists in addition to the entry price. Consider taking more for catering.

To participate in the Lampions workshop, Les Créa'titudes du Coteau needs your support of CHF 4.50.- per lampion to cover material costs. 

Something else: Remember to cover yourself properly for the winter season!
